Posted by Suprememessage - March 13th, 2012

Well, we have a very special treat for you today Newgrounds. i have interviewed one of my favorite users, Asandir

How do you think you have changed over your Newgrounds membership, if you think you've changed at all?

Asandir:
"I definitely changed much over my short time here. It has been already over a year. Never thought that I would stick around that long, to be honest. At first I wasn't even an active forum user and then I posted very, and I mean very often. That were the times where I had much fun. Then I joined the Elite Guard Barracks. Now I had to make sure that my post quality was better. It ultimately lead to me posting less and less. And so I searched for other things that I could do. It was around that time that I started to make interviews with forum users, which soon turned into a weekly release. In the beginning I didn't expect that I would have so much fun with it. I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who agreed to an interview with me and also The-Great-One for the advice that he gave me.
Some time in November I became an icon mod genre mod. Not much to say here. I see it as way to give something back to the site. I am not an outstanding artist, so that activity gives me the feeling to be atleast to some degree a useful user."

Do you ever miss the days when you posted more often on the BBS?

Asandir:
"Sometimes I do. I am unsure where the user Asandir stands right now. You can't compare the user Asandir from the first half of 2011 and who posted whenever and however he wanted to by spreading happiness with the current Asandir. We could call this Asandir Version 2. Now I am a member of the Elite Guard Barracks, an icon and genre mod and want also to keep the weekly releases of interviews up. When I think about the beginnings of my membership and my posting, then those thoughts are heavily influenced by nostalgia. The fun that I have now with my activities and responsibilities is different but not less intense. Like I said, I changed much. And I changed very quickly. It seems like I reached my full potential as Newgrounds user and that thought is kind of frustrating, since I always want to become better."

Would you consider yourself a Newgrounds celebrity?

Asandir:
" Not really. One thing that I realised while making my interviews with forum users is that the forum userbase changes very frequently. Most of the users that I interviewed at some point because they were well known (on the forums) are now gone or only come here seldomly. What I want to say is, I am JUST a forum user. I don't think that this is enough to be considered a Newgrounds celebrity. The only forum user who is known through the years is Gagsy and that is well deserved. The days of a well known Asandir are long over and they will not come back. And that is a good thing. I can still keep conversations with my favourite users up, although many of them left."

What does it feel like having accomplished so much in such a short time?

Asandir:
"That sounds like a trick question to me. I don't think that I accomplished so much in a sort time. But let me look what you could mean. First, forum posts. Not difficult to make many of them, when you make them short. Nothing impressive here. As for other stat related achievements, none of them are particularly difficult to get for the timeframe of my membership. What else is there? The interviews. Well, I like them, yes. And I think that it is somewhat impressive that I kept them going for half a year and will continue to do so. But not the questions are impressive but the awesome answers by the users. Most of the credit goes therefore to them.
The last thing, being an icon and genre mod. Also not so impressive, since you can simply ask for i

No-one reads these things anymore; they're just pointless and the novelty wore off months ago. : /

There was a time when people read them at all?
